Yalmeh carpet or Yelmeh carpet is one of the rural light carpets that is woven in Yalmeh region located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtyari province in central Iran. In this carpet, a symmetrical knot with cotton and wool yarn and fabric and woollen lint has been used. And the colours of lacquer, crimson, blue, yellow, cream, white, black and brown are the common colours of Yalmeh carpet.
One of the most important features of Yalmeh design is the simultaneous use of plant, animal and geometric patterns in the carpet; In this way, all kinds of micro-patterns are used side by side and separately to fill the text of the carpet.
In this carpet, there is a symbol of birds around the carpet and geometric patterns in the middle of the carpet, which are covered by small flowers known as eye-catching flowers.
